Challenge Tuesday

I do love a bit of alliteration...don't you?

So here it is...not quite Challenge Anneka (for those British readers of a certain age)....more like something that stretches me a bit.  This is going to come in the form of a weekly chunk of German (I'm a beginner on a distance learning course). Not very reader friendly for those who don't speak German....actually, probably not that reader friendly for those who speak German.....The thing is, I never speak...mainly because I don't get the opportunity...but also now, because I'm tongue-tied....

Happy Friday - 16.01.15

Happiness is...........casting on...........

Nothing like a new project on the needles to make me smile (despite the fact the other* project is very much not finished).

Winding the wool to hopefully get some sort of match in the colours and now cracking on, with the toe done already.  Toe-up two at a time.

Why the sudden need for socks?  Well I happened to be looking at Planet Penny's homemade socks and before I knew it I was hunting for a ball of sock wall that I bought a few years ago.

Joining in with Planet Penny's Happy Friday....why don't you pop over there and take a look at everyone else's happy things too.

* if you are fooled that there is only one unfinished project I'm impressed

Happy Friday - 09.01.15

Our old computer of recent has become an expensive light, sitting in the corner, waiting to crash at the slightest mention of processing something.  It has been unresponsive (apart from looking like its on.... and a computer) for a couple of months.  So finally yesterday, we had a new computer delivered with all the old files and photos taken off the old machine and put on to a shiny new one.  Briefly I looked through some of my old pics, and happened upon this one......Littlest boy...looking....well...happy I'd say!

Did it make you smile?

I am smiling as I type!

Blowing the cobwebs away

We've had a couple of beach days recently, where if there were any cobwebs about, they were well and truly blown away by the end!

I think the god thing about having dogs, is the necessity to be aired on a regular basis.

I don't often finish up a walk where I wished I had stayed at home.  More often than not, I more likely to be disappointed I didn't take my camera as I missed a great view.

The rock formations on this  beach are just amazing.  We visit here less often than the other beaches, and it has normally been when the day is sunny.  By the end of this walk,  we all had to totally strip off and change into dry clothes.

My camera is not water resistant, so it needed drying out after this venture!

Littlest boy never misses a photo opportunity!

The wind was bracing so everyone just kept their heads down and plodded on!

This is a different day, a different beach....I love the way the rain drops on the lens distorted the view.

Out of focus, but can't you just taste the wildness of the day!  This is my in-laws dog who is holidaying with us for a few months.

And totally off topic, but it was at least worn in the above pics.  I made biggest boy a woolly hat, he chose the pattern from ravelry and the colours.  My first piece of stranded work, very simple but enjoyable....I would like to try something more difficult next time.
