Reasons to be cheerful!

This week I am linking with Planet Penny again with my Reasons to be Cheerful

I think the process of thinking of reasons that I am cheerful, makes me realise how many there are!

Its the small things that can make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. I saw the first lot of starlings swarming this morning..........an amazing sight.............I could watch for hours.  There are some amazing clips on youtube if you haven't seen them before.

Anyway.........I digress............my three Reasons to be Cheerful

Snowflakes for babies

Pumpkin pie for tea
(hubby was entrusted with taking it out of the oven this morning and followed my instructions a little too literally to check if set, by sticking his finger in it!)

I won a giveaway!

I won this beautifully handmade phone case from the wonderful Rosie Hearts who has rosiebull designs  in Not on the highstreet.com  I have admired her lovely things for a good while and her sewing is amazing!  How lucky am I to win this beautiful phone cover with sparkles on the front!

Right, I'm going to attempt putting up a youtube clip of some swallows.........no clue how to do it........... lets just give it a whirl!

Ah........easy when you know how (and you find the big icon that says 'Insert a Video')

  1. Hi, thanks for joining in! I think if I entrusted my husband to take something out of the oven it would just have a finger print on it, he'd have 'tested' for me too! Those starlings are amazing ren't they? I'd love to see it for real .

  2. Dearest Faith

Lovely reasons to be cheerful, I've never had pumpkin pie before but I have heard that it's super scrummy. Congratulations on your giveaway too, the world of blogging can be just marvelous with all those generous bloggers out there.

I love a starling or two and when we lived in Brighton we used to watch them come to roost on the abandoned pier with the pink and orange Sussex sunset as backround, amazing indeed xox

ps. thanks for all your lovely comments on my blog, much appreciated x

  3. Wow. Your pie looks wonderful and how lucky are you to have won something?! Great reasons to be cheerful! Can you direct me to a pattern for the snowflakes? Are they easy enough for someone who is only mildly proficient?

  4. What an beautiful clip! And that pie, wanties! It looks so yummy. What a lovely story about the snowflakes. A wonderful idea, those babies are so fragile. It makes me a little soft and emotional thinking about them haha. Well, it's a good thing most of them are very strong. With those snowflakes it makes things a little prettier. Great idea and great your helping out with it!

  5. You have bought back memories of watching the great crowds of starlings when I was at university in Exeter. Goodness, remember when it was possible to just stop and watch without any guilt or feeling you should be doing something else! Thank you for the reminder.

  6. That clip is unbelievable, those starlings all flying in a synchronized dance across the wetlands, I've never seen anything like it before! Thanks for sharing! Do you think you could pop a slice of the pp in the post for me?

  7. I use a Nikon 3100 and have 2 lenses, not fancy schmantzy but a nice camera that is easy enough for me to use (I love it, it goes with me everywhere) and I edit my photos at Picnik.com which lets me make my photos look the way I want, different effects etc. The 3100 is on sale right now because Nikon has brought out the 5100 so you could probably pick one up for a really good price... Id highly recommend it!

  8. Excellent reasons for cheerfulness and I agree with you: we need to say out loud our reasons to be cheerful as often as we can. Oh, and pumpkin pie would be on my list, too, although tonight it was apple-pear (and delicious!).
