As you may know, this week, I took up the personal challenge to start something new, and I decided upon Brioche Knitting.
This is a totally new way for me, and so far....so good, although the book is crammed full of different stitches and I have only attempted a couple of things so far......it will be a long journey.
I figured there may be some of you who hadn't come across Brioche and therefore might like me, with my vast knowledge of all things Brioche to explain all I know.
Prepare to be speechless..........
Now you too can call yourself a Brioche knitting expert like me!
This post is part of the Knitting and Crochet Blog Week.
(in my defence this seemed like a good idea at the time and looked really professional until I tried to upload it....well, thats my excuse anyhoo!)
Wooosh, it went so fast! It does seem like a technique that I want to know more about though.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... Faith that was brilliant... I particularly love the 'hang on' bit! How clever of you! I can't say I can knit brioche after watching your Tutorial, but I am inspired to try... and of the 12 links at the end only 3 were knitting - the other 9 were edible.. we could bake brioche whilst knitting brioche! Brilliant! Have a lovely weekend...you must be all blogged out by now! Hugs, Jill x
ReplyDeleteI loved your explanation of brioche knitting, and like Jill loved how most the links after were for cooking brioche!!
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say I've loved your posts for knitting and crochet blog week, and can't wait to see more of your brioche......knitted or baked!!
A very masterly and comprehensive treatise: well-written, superbly illustrated, and concise! (And with food pictures at the end - nothing could be better.)
ReplyDeleteI particularly loved your self-portrait. :)
P.S. It's even better on the second viewing.
ReplyDeleteLoved it...when you wrote about brioche I thought it was food...but didn't want to show my ignorance so went along with it!! masterly performance! Joan
ReplyDeleteAhh, the brioche stitch. Last April, I spent an entire weekend (Friday night through Sunday night) teaching myself that stitch. I must have knit and frogged the same little cowl about 100 hundred times before I finally got the stitch down! It's great, isn't it? And now you have another stitch to your knitting vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteFaith, this was FAB!!! Had me in stitches (literally)! lol x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful! Love the graphics and you make it actually seem possible instead of a complete closed book! Brioche knitting is still a long way off for me but given time, you never know! Happy weekend! E x
ReplyDeletei love the presentation :0) might have to add this stitch to my YOP for round two!
ReplyDeleteHow creative are you? This was so clever and I hope some day to learn the brioche stitch too. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us.
ReplyDelete*smiles*
I have no idea what I just watched. Obviously, that stitch is not for me! LOL! I just started knitting this year and have made scarves, oven mitts and that's it. I'm wanting to try socks and I hear Ann Budd's books are good and of course there's You Tube videos and knitting sites with tutorials. I would have never gotten this far without the internet! LOL! But now I'm back crocheting so who knows when those socks with come about. Good luck!
